Christmas Beers [Dec. 18th, 2003|11:10 pm]

I bought a few six-packs of holiday brews last night. Here are some mini-reviews:

Alaskan Brewing’s Winter Ale.
Only lightly spiced; very drinkable, with a nice malty texture to it. The bottle claims that it is brewed with real spruce tips(!).

Anderson Valley Brewing Company’s Winter Solstice.
Really bright flavor, almost berry-like. Possibly my favorite of the current batch, although I don't think I could drink much of it at once.

Anchor Brewing’s Christmas Ale.
Excellent as always. Not quite as utterly amazing as their 2000 batch was, but still a deliciously solid spiced beer. Darker than the two beers above.

A yummy end of year so far. :)

Alaskan Amber is probably the best beer I've ever had. Running a close second is Midnight Sun Brewing Company's "Full Curl Brew." Alaska had its faults, but the beer was divine.
