Conjure-One and Delerium, Live in San Diego [Sep. 10th, 2003|12:30 am]
[mood |giddygiddy]
[music |still basking in glow from the show]

I'm too exhausted from doing my pathetic white-boy raver bit to do much of a review, but I can say: this show was fantastic. They played almost all my favorites, and had a surprisingly vibrant stage show. And they had Kristy Thirsk singing! (She is as cute as I thought she was...)

The only down sides were an excessively long intermission between the two acts, and the stupidly loud sound level. It might have had something to do with where I was standing (front center for a while) but I could hardly hear anything over the bass. Which, for almost any other electronic band, would be fine — but Delerium has fantastic vocals, and it's a shame that they got washed out.

Oh, and they didn't play “A Poem for Byzantium”. The bastards.

Anyway, if this tour is coming anywhere near you, make it a point to go see it. I don't know if I was particularly jazzed because I am so familiar with the music, but I felt it was a great show. Even the crowd was great — evenly distributed between goths, urban hipsters, and just regular people.
